SME-Instrument Phase 2: looking for working boat designers and builders

An Italian company, that already won the H2020 ? SME Instrument Phase 1 ?Small business innovation research for Transport and Smart Cities Mobility? grant, is now preparing the Phase 2 project proposal.

The aim is to develop a new production system for catamarans based on modularity and component standardization to assemble different length catamarans starting from a single set of modular mould, increase production flexibility, reducing production costs and reducing delivery time.

The project is aimed to share investments, tools and technical platforms: a new production system for workboat catamarans based on modularity and standardization of components; introduce thermoplastic composite materials in nautical constructions with high recyclability, resistance to saline environments and bumps (impact).

The catamaran platform produced is a shared set of common design, engineering and production efforts, as well as major components over a number of outwardly distinct models and types of boats, produced by different boatyard with different and distinctive brand.

The company is looking for boat designers (preferably designing work boats), boat builders and boatyards interested in testing
and pre-industializing the system within the project actvity.
