Lounge chair M2.02 inspired from supersonic Concorde

13 Mar 2019

This exceptional lounge chair is a tribute the the fastest airliner, the supersonic Concorde. The development has followed a guiding principle: "Maximum structural performance, extreme comfort". A stylistic approach of Sylvain Mariat associated with the well-know expertise of Sébastien Barrau.

The chair has a main spar in titanium, on which are fixed eighteen half ribs in carbon with latticework of drawing inspired by some Concorde's pieces. Its conception pushes the boundaries of materials, with extreme latticework made to offer a maximum optimization of the strength-to-weight ratio.

The lounge chair stands out with a duality between high technicality and ultimate comfort. This singular object borrows technical and aesthetical codes to the supersonic while including today's most innovative processes, which are the latest milling methods and metal 3D printing. Indeed, materials used are from the aeronautical industry, grade 5 titanium and HexMC carbon being the main components.

The M2.02 supersonic lounge chair, will be exhibits on JEC World 2019, Planets Sport and Leisure.
The partner ID Composite being in Booth R67, Hall 6.
